Relate, Communicate, and Think: Parent and Caregiver Coaching

Dr. Greenspan’s Floortime Approach uses simple techniques to be used in everyday situations to help children Relate, Communicate, and Think (self-regulate, emotionally connect, communicate, think logically, adapt, plan ahead, etc.). These techniques should also be used in 20-30 minute Greenspan Floortime sessions at home.  Research on caregivers using similar techniques found that autism and it’s symptoms can be significaly reduced with parent training, and even prevented in some cases.

HOW DO WE COACH?

Dr. Greenspan felt strongly that for parents and professionals to learn to apply Greenspan Floortime effectively they needed to practice with the support and feedback from a Greenspan Floortime trained professional.  The most effective way to support parents of children with developmental differences is with a multipronged approach.

Our Relate, Communicate, and Think parent training program has 3 main steps to be implemented weekly with each caregiver,

  1. Live in-person or virtual coaching in The Greenspan Floortime Approach® (25 minutes)
  2. Video submission with feedback of a caregiver doing a Greenspan Floortime® at home (10-minute video submission within 48 hours of the live coaching)
  3. Practice Greenspan Floortime® daily for 20-30 minutes with your child.

These parent training programs are scheduled in 4 and 8-week packages.  Each weekly step 1 and 2 combo (live coaching and video submission with feedback) costs $225. (Please contact us for less expensive options, info@stanleygreenspan.com)
