Level 4 Greenspan Floortime® Certificate Training

Overview:

This Expert Training Certificate prepares professionals to become educational lecturers in the Greenspan/DIR™ Model and The Greenspan Floortime Approach®. It is designed for individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, possess a deep understanding of Dr. Stanley Greenspan’s framework, recognize its broader applications beyond autism, and embody self-reflection.

Training Components:

Case Study and Video Presentation: Participants will learn to effectively present case studies and session videos to individuals with limited or no prior knowledge of Dr. Greenspan’s framework.  Trainees will be able to break down a child’s developmental profile using the Greenspan/DIR Model, identify the key techniques and principles of The Greenspan Floortime Approach, and identify elements of the caregiver’s profile impacting their application of Greenspan Floortime®. Emphasis is placed on adapting communication styles for diverse audiences (parents, professionals, or mixed groups).

  • Addressing Challenging Questions: Trainees will develop skills to respond to complex questions from new learners. Topics will include:
    • Distinguishing Greenspan Floortime from behavioral interventions, like ABA.
    • Distinguishing Greenspan Floortime from other non-Greenspan ‘Floortime-based’ interventions, like DIRFloortime, Play Project, MEHRIT, Positive Development, etc.
    • Handling a wide array of challenging behaviors (aggression, self-involvement, attention-seeking, hyperactivity, meltdowns, defiance, rigidity, etc.).
    • Doing Floortime in a various environments, like schools and other group settings.
  • Understanding the unique features of Greenspan Floortime and its various applications.

Experience-based Assessment:

Trainees will present 2 case studies and field questions from a group of professionals, and possibly caregivers. Trainees will be assessed on the accuracy or their analysis, use of terms and concepts, and their ability to engage with their audience while presenting and answering challenging questions. 

Cost Structure:

($250 per month) Training Package Membership for a minimum of 3 months. Training can continue for longer than 3 months. Duration is based on the trainee’s ability to pass their Experience-based Assessment. 

Ongoing Support and Access:

($9.95 per month) All trainees are required to maintain access to the growing body of lectures and materials at StanleyGreenspan.com.  Additionally, trainees are required to ‘Continue their Education’ through semiannual video submissions showing clips of Greenspan Floortime sessions.  This ongoing membership fee covers this semi-annual quality control and ongoing education accountability process.

This training is intended for professionals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to and understanding of The Greenspan Floortime Approach and have completed Level 3 training.
