The foundation of the Greenspan Floortime Approach®
Level 100 is your entry point into the Greenspan Floortime Approach® — Dr. Stanley Greenspan’s original developmental model, which became the foundation of DIR/Floortime. It is designed for professionals and caregivers who want a working understanding of the approach before applying it in practice or in the home.
Level 100 is entirely self-paced. You watch the video modules on your schedule, complete short knowledge checks, and join a live monthly Q&A call with SSG faculty. There are no deadlines, no group cohorts, and no exams. Most students complete the course in 4–6 weeks at about 2 hours per week.

Who Level 100 is for
For Professionals
Occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, mental-health clinicians, developmental pediatricians, and educators. Level 100 gives you a working foundation you can apply immediately, and it is the prerequisite for Levels 200–400 if you want to pursue full certification.
For Parents & Caregivers
Parents, grandparents, and caregivers of children with autism, sensory differences, developmental delays, or communication challenges. Level 100 gives you a shared vocabulary with your child’s clinical team and practical, at-home strategies rooted in Dr. Greenspan’s work.
For Students & Trainees
Graduate students in OT, SLP, psychology, education, and related fields. Great for building a developmental foundation alongside your program coursework.
How Level 100 works

👨🏫 Weekly Optional Live Q&A- Join a 60-minute call with SSG faculty on the first Tuesday of every month. Bring your questions from the videos or from your own practice.
🎓2 Written Assessments- All trainees must pass the Mastery Test and the Proficiency Test to receive their knowledge-based certificate.
📜 CE hours- Continuing education credit available for many disciplines. You will have to submit for CEU’s to your professional curriculum’s licensing body.
♾️ On-going Access- Once enrolled, you keep access to the full library as long as you are a member.
*Greenspan/DIR™ Certificate: The Professional Course will help you pass the Mastery Test and the additional content and learning opportunities in Dr. Greenspan’s Library will help you pass the Proficiency Test. {Passing both will grant you a Greenspan/DIR™ Certificate.

Level 100 — frequently asked questions
Q1 — How long do I have to complete Level 100?
You have 6 month access. Most students finish in 4–6 weeks at ~2 hours per week, but you can go faster or slower. There are no deadlines.
Q2 — Do I need to have taken the free intro course first?
No — the free intro course is optional. If you already know you want to go deep, you can enroll directly in Level 100. If you’re still figuring out whether the approach fits your needs, the free intro is a great low-commitment starting point.
Q3 — Is Level 100 the same as “Level 1”?
Yes. Some earlier materials referred to this course as “Level 1.” We now use “Level 100” across all training levels (100, 200/201, 300, 400) for clarity and consistency.
Q4 — What credentials do I get after Level 100?
A Knowledge-based Certificate in the Greenspan/DIR Model™. Level 100 is not a clinical certification on its own; full “Certified Greenspan Floortime® Provider” status requires completing Levels 201 and above.
Q5 — Is this appropriate for parents, or is it too technical?
It is appropriate for parents. Level 100 is intentionally accessible — we assume no clinical background. Many parents report that Level 100 gave them the shared language and confidence they were missing when talking to their child’s therapy team.
